1.0 Terms & Conditions
By purchasing a Cake Mail subscription box from Lucy Claire Bakes you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
2.0 Dispatch & Delivery Information
Cake Mail boxes are sent out on a monthly basis between the 15th-17th, they will always be sent out on a weekday. This day may be subject to change if there are production issues or postal network issues, however, we will be doing everything in our control to maintain this regular dispatch dates. All boxes are sent by a Next Day delivery service via Hermes, unless you have selected another delivery option, which aims to deliver within 24 hours of posting, although delivery may take longer in some cases. We cannot be held responsible for incorrectly entered delivery addresses, but if you get in touch as soon as you realise there is a problem we will do our best to assist. It is your responsibility to ensure your address is accurate and up to date. If there are any changes to your address, you must update your address a minimum of 5 days prior to the shipping date of the subsequent month. Please email us at .
We will not be able to refund any costs related to incorrectly entered details. Our courier will attempt redelivery, although delays in delivery may affect the condition of the product. We cannot be held responsible for degradation of the product due to missed deliveries. If it appears there is no issue with your delivery address, and you have not been notified of an attempted delivery, please allow 72 hours for your box to arrive before contacting us and we will be happy to assist.
2.1 Start Dates for new Subscriptions
The start date of a new subscription has a sign up cut off date. For delivery in the same month for new subscriptions you need to have bought a subscription by 23:59pm on the 10th of each month. If you sign up after the 10th of the month your subscription will start the following month.
3.0 Suspension of Subscription
Customers wishing to suspend their subscription must do so before the 10th of each month otherwise the order will be processed and shipped for the month. It is the responsibility of the customer to manage their subscription by contacting Lucy Claire Bakes for assistance at least 2 days prior to the 10th of the month with any requested changes. Lucy Claire Bakes reserves the right to deny refunds of charges that have already been processed.
Suspending your subscription is only available for three and six month subscriptions. If you wish to suspend your subscription you will need to inform Lucy Claire Bakes by the 10th of the month, if you inform us after this date your suspension will begin the following month. Your suspension will last for one month only and you can only suspend your subscription once during the length of your subscription. Cancellation of a pre-paid subscription (1, 3 or 6 month pre-payment) will still receive the remaining boxes of the pre-paid period you have paid for. We do not offer refunds for customers who wish to cancel a pre-paid subscription part way through the period, but will still fulfil the remaining boxes due in that period.
As our boxes contain fresh and perishable food, you are not entitled to the regular rights of consumers to return goods within 14 days after you receive them simply because you change your mind. There is an exemption pursuant to regulation 27(1)(c) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Deactivation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, that confirms that contracts for the supply of goods are exempt from the right to withdrawal if those goods are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. This does not affect your right to cancel your subscription in line with the details set out above.
5.0 Delivery Restrictions
We choose to provide a next day delivery service via Hermes to ensure the products arrive as fresh as possible. Our courier can deliver to mainland UK excluding the Scottish Highlands.
Local Delivery & Collection from Lucy Claire Bakes
If you would like to collect from Lucy at 51, Atherstone Road, Loughborough, LE11 2SH, please select this delivery option when purchasing your Cake Mail. We will then contact you to let you know the collection delivery window between the 15th-17th of that month.
Local delivery is only available for the following postcodes - LE4, LE11, LE12, LE67.
If you want your Cake Mail delivered to an address inside these postcode areas, please select this option at checkout; we will then contact you to arrange a suitable time to deliver your Cake Mail. If you are sending the Cake Mail Box outside of these postcodes please select either Next Day Delivery or collection.
6.0 Damaged or missing goods
The arrival of your box may extend outside of the window estimated by our courier. If your box arrives damaged or has items missing, please send the details to us with pictures where possible by email to as soon as possible in order for us to remedy the situation. We will not be able to act upon any reports of damaged or missing goods if not reported within 3 days of the shipping date.
After your payment (which is taken on the day you sign up), it is your responsibility to ensure your payment method details are valid and up to date. Incorrect or expired payment details may affect your delivery. All payments must be cleared before you are able to receive your subscription box. We have the right to cancel your subscription if we encounter payment issues that cannot be resolved.
Changes to terms and conditions
We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time to reflect changes in market conditions affecting our business, changes in technology, changes in payment methods, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our system's capabilities.
You will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time that you order Products from us, unless any change to those policies or these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or governmental authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you), or if we notify you of the change to those policies or these terms and conditions before we send you the Dispatch Confirmation (in which case we have the right to assume that you have accepted the change to the terms and conditions, unless you notify us to the contrary within seven working days of receipt by you of the Products).
